Places to Visit in Brazil - First stop; Pirenopolis!

        Welcome to Pirenopolis!

Pirenopolis, also known as 'Piri," is a vibrant, historic town in the state of Goias, Brazil.       Pirenopolis is a touristic town, mainly known for its waterfalls. There is also festivals, farmers markets, folkloric events, air balloon rides, and four-wheeling in the forest. People drive from all over Brazil to visit Pirenolopis, and I have the honor to say that my in-laws live in this beautiful place.

The best part of the this town is the fact that you can walk everywhere and see the old, small buildings with boutiques, outdoor small bars and cool local items being sold. This town is sometimes called a stone town because of the surrounding hills made of stone that have been used to pave all the streets in the town. The two churches are the main historic points of the city, and both were built by enslaved people almost 300 years ago! The food offered in the town is amazing, as everything is handmade, even drinks, using real natural fruit. None of this artificial flavoring business. I love this town as much as I love the whole country, with its unique characteristics and types of food offered. The types of food, traditions and places to go will be in the upcoming blogs! So, stay tuned!
